"میجر ماینس" آهنگ پاپ, راک گروه Coldplay و هشتم آهنگ از پنجمین آلبوم Mylo Xyloto.[۱] آهنگ خود را به عنوان یک شخصیت داستانی به همین نام ایجاد شده توسط این گروه است که بر اساس مجموعه ای از رسانه های مختلف اقلیت حاکم و سیاستمداران است.[۲]
ضبط[ویرایش]
آهنگ ثبت شده توسط aLEca در "کندوی عسل", گروه, شخصی, استودیو ضبط در لندن. این یکی از اولین آهنگ از Mylo Xyloto به ثبت خواهد کرد و در درجه اول در سال 2008 ثبت شده با لمس نهایی اضافه شده در اوایل سال 2010.
توسعه[ویرایش]
با توجه به گزیده ای از این گروه یادداشت های شخصی موجود در محدود pop-up نسخه از این آلبوم این آهنگ در اصل عنوان "Silencia". خواننده از گروه های کریس مارتین گفت که این آهنگ الهام گرفته از کورمک مک کارتی's book جاده. در مصاحبه با گروه توسط آمریکا انتشار بیلبورد مارتین توصیف این آهنگ به عنوان "یک نوع از شرور تاریک قطعه" اضافه کرد:
It's the idea of two people running away from a Kafka environment, or an Orwellian thing.
دیگر منابع الهام برای این آهنگ شامل 1970s و 80s, گرافیتی جنبش از شهر نیویورک و سفید گل رز جنبش است. با توجه به مارتین او را تحسین افرادی که در صحبت کردن و بیان خود را در منفی محیط اعتراف او همیشه انجام می شود که خود را.
I admire it. I've spent a lot of my life playing it a bit safe or conforming to something, even though I didn't agree with it. So I have respect and admiration for people who don't. The ideas come from graffiti art of the 70s in New York, where people were expressing themselves with paint. Then there was the White Rose Movement. Anybody who's standing up for themselves. It's about being free to be yourself and to express yourself among negative surroundings. Being able to speak out or follow your passion, even if everybody seems against it.

در مقاله منتشر شده توسط س در تاریخ 10 اکتبر 2011 تحت عنوان "برداشت اول از... کلدپلی را مایلو زایلتو"[۴] آنها نوشت:
Beginning with the jagged strum of a detuned acoustic guitar, Major Minus sounds like the bitter flipside of God Put A Smile Upon Your Face. Chris Martin's vocals sounding like they were recorded in a seedy phonebox, the "they got one eye on the road/ And one on you" chorus delivered amidst guitar shards and a kinetic percussive groove. One of the most immediate songs on the album, and the most darkly playful thing they've done since Daylight.
اجرای زنده[ویرایش]
Coldplay برای اولین بار انجام شده "Major Minus" در دوستان و خانواده فرفره در انجمن Kentish Town, London در 31 مه 2011. آنها سپس در ادامه به بازی آن را در طول سال 2011 جشنواره تابستانی تور بازی را در مقابل عموم برای اولین بار در Rock im Park جشنواره در نورنبرگ آلمان در 3 ژوئن 2011 و بازی آن را دوباره در Rock am Ring روز بعد که برای اولین بار پخش زنده از این آهنگ رسما مجاز توسط گروه مدیریت.[۵]
در طول Coldplay را headlining عملکرد در هرم Stage at Glastonbury Festival در 25 ژوئن 2011, هشتگ #MajorMinus trended در توییتر در سراسر جهان بعد از این آهنگ تا به حال انجام شده است.
