اسیدووراکس سیترولین (قبلاً A. avenae subsp. citrulli (Williems et al., 1992)) یک باکتری گرم منفی و هم زیست است که باعث سوختگی گیاه چه و لکه های باکتریایی میوه (BFB) در کدو می می گردد. بر اساس استفاده از منبع کربن، پروفایل های اثر انگشت DNA، استفاده از ترکیب اسید چرب در تمام سلول و سنجش بیماریزایی، A. citrulli ها به دو گروه مجزا تقسیم می شوند . سویه های گروه I عمدتاً با گیاهان غیر هندوانه (عمدتاً خربزه) مرتبط هستند، در حالی که گروه دوم شامل سویه های است که عمدتاً از هندوانه جدا شده اند.
